Sounds simple, it may even appear pedestrian to the mind, yet it can be challenging indeed.
To breathe in, through and focus attention within our body and heart is to take or divest energy from thought and there can be resistance from the mind to do so.
Yet, the field of the heart has been reported to be many thousand times stronger than the field that emanates from the brain, and indeed many speak of the power that comes from entraining the mind to intelligence of the heart.
When all else is gone, and we are with ourselves, the things we yearn and crave, long for and dwell on are often the states of peace and joy, the moments of kinship and laughter, in which we felt the depth of freedom that holds us unconditionally, and incessantly, in a mere moment.
As sensitive, sentient beings we can shroud ourselves in garbs of purpose, duty, titles and responsibility, chasing and so on that leads nowhere but merely consumes our precious time here as humans.
We are answerable only to ourselves, ultimately. Holding our inner compass in a state of integrity and authenticity may call us to check in with our heart as to what feels and is known to be right.
There is said to be a Sioux saying, which says, ‘The longest journey you will make in your life is from your head to your heart…’
Reawakening our childlike innocence and pure playfulness is a process that many of who have felt lost and alone to ourselves embark on to live more truly, and be more fully, alive.
Trials and traumas, stresses and struggles, hurts and wounds, memories and mayhem, craziness and chaos can cause us to live in our heads and thinking, away from our body and its feeling state. As we process the grief, shed the uncried tears and release the unspoken words we discover a deep reservoir of strength that tests and transcends the human condition and we find beneath the fear there is our true self, waiting, ever whispering, ever comforting, ever alive. Go there!
May your heart unfurl its petals raising you into higher octaves of love!
