The smallest acts of beauty reveal the purest acts of love.
I recall being at work one day after a very good friend, with whom I felt a special bond, had left.
That first day filled me with such soul sadness; it was like the lights within me turned off and the energy I was emanating was palpable.
One of my other friends, sitting across me, sensed the shift in mood and he said little but stood up with a beaming smile and bright eyes to console me about my loss. He simply said, ‘You miss him.’
Unbeknownst to me, he had been sitting at his desk making a daisy chain out of different types of paper clips in different colours, and he walked it around to me and insisted he put it on and that I wear it.
As I looked up from my desk, he said this: ‘On your wrist is a reminder that we love you and when you see it you will remember we are always close.’
I teared up.
Throughout the day, they would check my wrist that it was there, and indeed did so in the weeks that followed.
A simple, inexpensive gift that was so touching for it carried the sentiment of love straight to my heart.
Where there is purity, there is beauty and where there is love, there is light.
