Each of us comes to find healing in our own way and time.
Each of us led different paths, which ultimately take us home, in the deepest sense.
Home is a nebulous and amorphous concept to the mind, yet to rest in one’s heart and live from one’s awakened spirit is the home of which I speak here.
None can truly know our path or what is best served by how we live it or the choices we make.
The maze and mess of life has a divine order that escapes the mind, perhaps confuses and bamboozles it, and that is a wonderful thing. When life takes twists and turns, it shows us that our mind is not in control and that control is, in many respects, an illusion too.
Things don’t always feel good or right, or fit into nice boxes and make sense, yet they happen anyway whether we like it or not.
The longest relationships end overnight. Your dream job becomes a burden. Your passion for something wanes and evaporates. Your friend leaves and you lose contact. You come to like something or someone that seems entirely incongruous or incompatible with all you stood for. You move across the globe for travel but find love in the process. You no longer wish to follow what you did and thought you would always. Life.
At the end of the day, all we can ever be is true to ourselves and honest with others.
Chasing for things and seeking to be somewhere may seem to give us focus and purpose, but does it really, truly matter? The phrase I like is this one: “And so what?” It has a powerfully arresting and startling notion to it for it alone reveals the ephemeral nature and what lies beneath that which we think is solid and stable.
I remember Eckhart Tolle sharing in one of his talks how he passed a construction site and saw a sign that read, “All structures are unstable.” How true are such words. The fact is that things of this world, including us and our identity, are not fixed, certain, stable or enduring. We change and shift, we move and alter.
As long as we are learning and growing, living and being, this is what matters.
Nothing around us truly makes us anything or keeps us secure, but when we come to a point of knowing who we are within, then those things around show up to reveal and accentuate that truth in a way that enhances what is already present and true within.
Be brave enough to look at your fears and find ways to strengthen in healthy ways.
You deserve the very best of everything.
