For many, the Holy Grail is a relationship to find solace and security, perhaps, to rest in love and feel alive.
Yet, as humans, we tend to find we are incomplete and incoherent, running a range of sometimes rampant and rampaging patterns that interfere, override and even derail our lives, creating dysfunction and distortions.
What we forget, or often miss, is that the gift of life is a gift to awaken. The other can be a guide, and perhaps a partner on our way, but our journey is ours and ours alone. We arrive alone, and so do we depart alone with only our spirit with us.
Even in the strongest relationship with the deepest love, still we are accountable to ourselves as a unique expression of love and light. Come what may, we are called to search within to uncover or rather rediscover more fully, and consciously, what is always there: ourselves in the highest sense.
This can seem to take time and indeed patience, for it entails a process of clearing, healing, integrating and refining ourselves as we release layers and sift through the levels that have held us back or dimmed our brightness, so we may bask and revel in the light of the sun we are, in our truest sense, in our deepest essence.
So, love, yes. Yet, to remember the limitations of human love that may be conditional and based on needs gives way to a higher love, a divine love within that comes from connecting to a place within us that is us, always. That love there is the fulfilling, nurturing, embracing and constant love that arrives as our consciousness blossoms and arises.
The journey of the spiritual athlete is both a testing and triumphant one.
